A vibration-based principle for clean, energy-efficient de-icing.

The Icepulse technology is built on an innovative vibration-driven method that removes or prevents ice formation without the use of chemicals or additional heat. The system is designed to operate energy-efficiently, safely, and with minimal impact on surrounding structures.

How it works:

Detection – early signs of icing are identified

Activation – controlled vibration is applied locally

Release – ice detaches naturally without damaging surfaces

Applications

The Icepulse principle can be adapted for a range of renewable energy installations, including:

  • Wind turbine blades

  • Transmission infrastructure

  • Marine and offshore structures

Benefits

  • Reduced downtime and maintenance costs

  • Improved energy yield in cold climates

  • Extended equipment lifetime

  • Minimal additional energy consumption

Development

The Icepulse technology is being developed in close collaboration with Nordic industry partners and research environments. We are currently preparing for pilot-scale testing and seeking strategic partners for further development and commercialization.
